Job Description
This position is located at our new Supply Chain Center facility in Midvale, Utah. This new state of the art building is located in the central Salt Lake valley next to major transportation arteries and central to our hospital system. The facility has 150,000 square feet of warehouse space, including 26 dock bays and is designed to support Intermountains cutting edge in-house materials distribution systems.
This position operates a commercial motor vehicle with a GVW greater than 26,000 lbs with trailers up to 53 in length. This position is accountable for the safe and courteous driving, delivery, loading and unloading (including safe forklift operation) of items to facilities in the Intermountain distribution network. This position will be responsible to operate a semi tractor and trailer in compliance with all state and federal regulations, including required paperwork, safety checks and reporting of any maintenance problems. This position works to provide an excellent distribution system between facilities and organizations within Intermountain Healthcare.
Job Essentials

Safely operates a commercial motor vehicle with a GVW greater than 26,000 lbs in a variety of conditions and environments to complete deliveries of equipment, packages, specimens and supplies. Typically transports large or heavy items that require safe lifting and safe moving techniques. Stays aware of conditions and circumstances that affect ones own safety or the safety of others. Protects the physical well-being of personnel and self against work related accidents, injuries or other debilitations.

Minimum Requirements
21 years of age or older as required by the DOT to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
A valid class A drivers license with no restrictions and pass a drivers road test as required by DOT to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
Must have H (Hazmat) Endorsement on CDL or be able to obtain a Hazmat Endorsement within 30 days of hire.
A valid DOT CDL Medical Card.
Must have a driving record in compliance with Intermountain Healthcare's Motor Vehicle Driver Policy. Generally a potential new hire can have no more than three moving violations in the last three years.
Five years professional driving experience.
OSHA Forklift Certified.
Able to use basic computer software and applications.
Able to understand and follow department procedures and practices.
Able to comply with Intermountain Healthcares Motor Vehicle Driver Policy.
Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Requires the employee to load and unload carts and pallets.
Able to safely operate and maneuver forklifts in tight spaces while loading and unloading pallets from docks and trailers.
Able to safely operate trucks and equipment in all weather and light conditions and therefore must have good vision physical agility and good motor skills.
Physical Requirements
Lifting, sitting, seeing standing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, climbing, and walking
Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and to occasionally lift 70 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working for an in-house distribution system
Demonstrated ability to build positive, long term working relationship with those that you deliver to
