What You'll doCompuNet, Inc is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Physical Security team in Salt Lake City, UT.
This position provides a key role in the preparation and installation of IP-based integrated security solutions including surveillance cameras, door controllers, switches, routers, servers, UPSs and other active components related to the project.
This role will be responsible for:
Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring all assigned projects Communicating effectively during daily interactions with clients to interpret their requirements and needs.
Working with the engineering department on design and drafting phases of jobs.
Understanding the engineered solution and providing input as needed to the lead engineer.
Addressing job site challenges by re-engineering the planned solution on the fly in coordination with the lead engineer.
May estimate or assist in estimating projects which the company is bidding.
Assisting in the coordination of the procurement of materials, supplies, and services and controls timely delivery to job site.
Preparing the project installation plan, manages the plan, and prepares and implements job procedures.
Supervising and monitoring the performance of field techs and subcontractors.
Closing out jobs including completing the engineering portion of all paperwork, ensuring POs are completed, Notice of Completions (NOC) is sent and jobs are turned over to operations for closeout.
Submitting reports on project status Monitoring compliance in all aspects of the project as applicable Continuing training and development by studying literature and attending seminars to stay current with regards to products, processes, and materials Working with Field Technicians on installation procedures and product training for their advancement Who you areYou're a strong team player that is highly invested in helping your customers succeed, takes pride in doing a good job and contributes to a great company culture.
You have the following knowledge, skills, abilities and/or education:
Associates Degree or equivalent level or experience Perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner Proven track record of project management success Three
years in the physical security industry with a manufacturer, rep, or integrator Physical security industry/manufacturer certification(s) Possess advanced knowledge of:
Additional certifications by manufacturer or product a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to self-motivate and self-manage time to maintain project timelines, benchmarks, and deadlines Basic computer skills Advanced construction/handy-man skills.
Understanding of tools and ways to professionally install hardware Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Our ideal candidate would also have the following skills, experience or education:
Bachelor's degree Certified in installing copper and fiber optic infrastructures 2 years' experience in the AV installation, Physical Security and or Telecom Cabling industry Entry level knowledge of AV, Wireless, and Security systems design, operation and installation Formal training in cable installation and termination Physical Security manufacture certifications Who we areCompuNet, Inc.
