Decorator/Displayer
Quilted Bear Decorator/Displayer position wanted for large retail gift & home d cor store. This person must be able to plan and implement the visual merchandising of gift, furniture, and home accents into a high volume retail showroom. This position may evolve into a decorator/buyer position-depending upon skill level and store need.
Must possess an eye for detail, a high level of creativity, and be self-motivated.
Able to work with store decorators and other store personnel and to assist with creating dynamic and creative floor displays.
Manage product flow and inventory levels of store retail products and accessories.
Be proactive in offering outstanding customer service.
Able to work very fast and without a great deal of handholding.
Must have Intermediate computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software and be able to learn other POS software programs without much difficulty.
Ability to stand, bend, reach, scoop and regularly lift 30-40 lbs. throughout assigned shift.
Ability to climb and use ladders.
Be able to help conduct the receiving process of vendor shipments according to store need.
Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to work schedule.
Assist customers in the showroom with space planning, layout, color schemes, and utilization of home furnishings.
Analyze seasonal gift and d cor trends and help management make decisions to adjust merchandise in the showroom accordingly.
Flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary (mostly around holiday display changes).
Generate suggestions to improve store processes and decision making.
Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Able to display empathy, understanding, and patience with employees and external customers.
Ability to work some Saturdays during the holidays.
Possible occasional travel required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Majority of time is spent walking, bending, lifting, and moving items and display furniture as well as doing displays and helping customers.
Occasionally position will require sitting at a desk as needed in order to use computer and phone.
Continuous use of hands to layout materials, operate keyboard, phone, and to use office equipment.
Previous decorating experience a must. Retail decorating experience a plus.
