Software Development Position (Orem/Midvale UT)
Quomation Insurance Services, Inc. has positions available for web and desktop applications programmers/developers in its Midvale and Orem, Utah offices. The job will involve work on the full-life cycle of software development from introducing new features, development, testing, debugging, deployment, and obtaining feedback from end-users and our technical support department. The job will require knowledge of both web and Microsoft Windows desktop software development.
The ideal job candidate will be expected to work with project managers and marketing personnel on multiple projects. The applicant must have great communication skills and will be expected to work with clients to answer technical questions, propose solutions to problems, provide training and other support related to the Company's software products.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a business software development plan, code and deploy web and desktop projects. The ability to work in a team environment along with other programmers and engineers is essential.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Participation in design sessions for web and desktop solutions
Develop graphical user interfaces for web and desktop applications
Component creation and optimization
Thorough business software development documentation of all coding projects
Ability to write durable code that will hold up in simulated high stress loads in both quality assurance and live commercial environments
Work with a programming team to accomplish various programming goals
Maintain and update existing software code
Analyze performance of programs and take corrective action to address deficiencies. This will include but not limited to load and scalability testing for web applications
Maintain confidentiality with applications, computer code and client relationships
Document programming bugs, solutions and submit to Quality Assurance for verification resolutions
Evening and weekend work when needed

- Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related degree is required
- Minimum 5 years of programming experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and mastery of the following concepts, programming languages and procedures:
- Visual Studio.NET programming framework and languages. C#, VB.net, VB 6 and ASP.net
- Develop web applications (ASP, IIS, Java script, HTML, CSS, AJAX, DHTML)
- Develop and troubleshoot web services in IIS environment
- Develop and troubleshoot Windows Server services
- Application testing and deployment
- Database programming and administration Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access
- Must understand SQL queries, stored procedures, interfacing with the database and database designs
- Excellent understanding of object oriented programming, nested loops, arrays and programming principles
- Understanding of web programming standards for client and server-side development
- Build and maintain interactive, highly-trafficked, database-driven web applications

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
